The SMSTS training course is the most popular site management training course within the construction industry.
The SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) is designed for construction site managers, site agents, quantity surveyors, construction directors, project directors, and persons responsible for planning, organising, monitoring, controlling and administering a construction workforce.
The course will assist managers and potential managers.
The New Road and Street Works Act (NRSWA) requires the undertakers to have qualified personnel in place who execute any type of works within the public highway on behalf of a utility company or their associates.
They must provide at least one operative who is to remain on site at all times until the works are completed. They must also have an appointed supervisor, who is able to monitor the works and liaise with the local Highway Authorities. Any one person cannot cover both roles at the same time.
This course is designed to provide people within an organisation that has a responsibility to others for managing other people’s Health & Safety.
The IOSH Managing Safely course has a flexible 3, 4 or 5-day format.
The course is accredited by the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).
This IOSH Managing Safely course is mainly delivered by trainers who are Chartered Members of the Institute.
