HSG 47 Service Avoidance (CAT & Genny) is a half day awareness course is to remind employees on how to use their equipment safely and ensure they understand and can read drawings and are using every available tool at their disposal.
It is aimed primarily at clients, designers, planning supervisors, contractors, employers, owners and operators of underground services, who otherwise would not use the locating equipment on a regular basis.
This also includes work by or for the utility companies and also roadworks, construction and demolition work. However, it is relevant to anyone who has responsibilities under the current legislation to use employees who work near or on underground services.
A full 1-day course is available and can be done through the NRSWA qualification (Unit 1) or in-house.
